The challenge
APIS has been formed in partnership with Manchester City Council and QIAGEN to realise the clinical and commercial potential of precision medicine in the prediction and prevention of disease.
To overcome the frustrating track record in the discovery and application of new relevant biomarkers represents the mission of APIS.
As a start-up the founders were looking for a solution that was tailored to their start-up environment but scalable to fit the needs of the exciting growth plans.
The Fact3 solution
Fact3 were introduced at the early stages when APIS had secured funding from various sources but had no staff, no infrastructure and little more than a bank account.
APIS engaged support from Fact3 to take the lead across implementation of their accounting, HR and IT departments whilst also providing further support for other key business set up requirements via our network of trusted advisors.
Staffing
Fact3 were instructed to support APIS with staffing the business. Using job boards to attract candidates, Fact3 managed interviews; offers; acceptance letters; feedback and the onboarding process for successful candidates.
Finance department
Fact3 were then instructed to set up and manage the finance department for the business. Fact3 implemented Xero software; created forecast models; took custody of the day to day bookkeeping and financial control and developed management accounts and board packs designed to the specific reporting needs of the business.
IT infrastructure
Using a combination of pay as you go and fixed fee pricing, flexible to suit the business as it scaled, Fact3 installed the entire IT infrastructure of the business, provide day to day support, managed data storage requirements and onboarded all new starters with their IT hardware and software needs.
Added value
Fact3 leveraged our network to assist APIS with insurance policies, pension policies and health insurance for staff, furniture supplies and print.
