Kush comes to Manchester

As you may already know, summ.it have an office based out in sunny Mauritius where we have team members in the accounts and IT divisions. Mauritius is a beautiful place, which is why it is no shock when people don’t regularly leave to come over to rainy England. As a business we look to integrate the Mauritian team with the UK team as much as we can and this involves regular visits to the Mauritian office and we have had a number of visits to the UK from our Mauritius team over the past few years. This year was the turn of our IT Service Engineer, Kush, who took his first ever plane journey over to join us in Manchester for two weeks, so here is a recap of his first trip away from home!

As this was Kush’s first trip to Manchester we had to make sure it was a good one full of great activities. From joining in with the team social event where he had his first try at 10 pin-bowling (and a little too much Jack Daniels!), a visit to Old Trafford to watch Man United (albeit against Burton Albion!), a shopping trip to the Trafford Centre and a Go Karting challenge, it is safe to say we kept him busy. Kush managed to immerse himself in city life and became a true Mancunian for 2 weeks even sampling a traditional British Sunday lunch.

Of course, whilst he was over here he was busy working away with the team in our offices alongside visits to some of the many clients he supports. When asked about his UK experience Kush explained  “Manchester was a great experience. Whilst I was there I got to meet the UK summ.it team and discover a lot of new, interesting places.  I was also lucky enough to experience many activities which made me realise living in Manchester is very different to Mauritius.”

Staying in central Manchester made sure Kush got the full extent of what city life was all about. Working from Manchester & Rochdale he was able to meet the summ.it team and get to know us all a bit better and we were able to get to know him also. Spending 2 weeks in the city opened Kush’s eyes to the UK way of life, and it is safe to say it is very different to what he’s used too.
