summ.it Team Weekend Away: The Cattle Shed

27/04/2018 Filed under Uncategorised

Last year we decided to leave the team Christmas meal and opt for a team weekend away instead. The nature of our jobs here at summ.it means we spend a lot of time on client’s premises and less time working together in one office which means having a weekend together is a great opportunity to catch up and do some team building!

In true summ.it tradition a storm tried to get in the way of our weekend plans (think back to Rough Runner & Storm Brian!), but being troopers we tackled the blizzard and made our way over to The Cattle Shed in Grindleford. From Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon we spent the weekend laughing, attempting a quiz Jayne created and of course enjoyed a drink or two.

The Cattle Shed was an amazing home away from home for the weekend with it’s impressive features and welcomed under floor heating, it made tackling the snow to be there worth it. The accommodation featured 22 twin rooms, all with en-suites, a separate games room with pool table, a TV room perfect for the boys & their Xbox, an open plan living space with massive dining table and bar and of course a fully equipped kitchen and utility room.

Friday called for a team quiz, created by our very own HR Partner Jayne Sanderson Brown, and of course, our Accounts Partner Andrew Jackson and his team won. On Saturday we ventured a little further for a pub lunch at ‘The Plough Inn’, with some of the team braving a walk in the cold and others opting to get there by car. Saturday evening resulted in more games and a very competitive girls vs boys Prosecco pong and before we knew it around came Sunday meaning it was time for us to venture home.

On behalf of all the summ.it team we would like to say a massive thank you to Jayne & Andrew for taking us on this lovely weekend away, and of course a thank you to the owner of the Cattle Shed for having us at their amazing accommodation for the weekend.
